ABSTRACT
Introduction: tongue cancers are the most common in oral cavity and the main treatment is surgery. In Mexico, tongue cancer is one of the most common. In recent years, innovative techniques have been developed as treatment.
Clinic case: female patient scheduled for left hemiglossectomy + lymph node dissection, tracheostomy + gastrostomy as well as tongue and mouth reconstruction. General anesthesia supported by multimodal analgesia was performed without complications and favorable postoperative results.
Conclusion: in complex and prolonged procedures, such as this, multimodal analgesia is crucial for postoperative recovery. The ERAS guidelines highlight their importance.
