Computerized prototype for the management of expendable material in the Central Sterilization Unit

ABSTRACT

Introduction: the use of information and communication technologies has meant a dizzying leap in scientific and technical development worldwide. National scenarios have become an indispensable element to establish the lines of development of Cuban society. Objective: to elaborate a computer prototype for the management of expendable material, based on information and communication technologies, in the sterilization center of the Provincial Pediatric Teaching Hospital "Pepe Portilla" of Pinar del Rio. Development: the results of the applied instruments are reflected through a critical analysis of the management process of expendable material through information and communication technologies. Conclusions: in the analysis and modeling of the artifacts that respond to the proposed solution, it was possible to elaborate a computer prototype from the functional and non-functional requirements. Based on the design of the processes that are carried out during the management of expendable material in the sterilization plant, it was possible to cover all the information recorded at each stage.
