ABSTRACT

Leydig cell tumor is a non-germ cell tumor variant; accounts for 1% of testicular tumors. The aim of this research is to describe a clinical case of testicular Leydig cell tumor. A 65-year-old patient presents left testicular pain of 6 months of evolution. A testicular tumor is suspected and conventional left orchiectomy with cord high ligation is performed. The biopsy confirms a localized Leydig cell tumor, which at follow-up presents liver metastases. He is was treated with chemotherapy, and had hyperpigmentation of the upper limbs. The patient evolved favorably and, at present, attends an oncology consultation. It is concluded that, in the presence of scrotal mass and epididymo-orchitis without clinical improvement, a testicular tumor should be ruled out. The treatment consists of radical orchiectomy and, depending on the histological typification and extension of the tumor, treatment with radiotherapy-chemotherapy will be established.
