ABSTRACT

The histological alterations produced by avian influenza virus are less known, just some of those has been reported in cases after an epidemic, as happened in Hong Kong and now in expermental assays of animals (mice, turkeys). These alterations suffered mainly in macrophages as decrease in themselves or as a hemophagocytic syndrome associated to viral infection with pulmonary affectation and another organs. Pneumonae and necrotizing bronchiolitis, alveolar acute damage are frequently findings in those cases, also is frequent the splenic and adrenal necrosis.
