Subungual glomus tumor: a brief review

ABSTRACT

Subungual glomus tumors are rare and characteristically present with a classic triad of paroxysmal pain, intense tenderness, and cold sensitivity. These tumors, which can be solitary or multiple, often cause a bluish discoloration of the affected tissue, typically manifesting as a small (‹1 cm), firm, elastic nodule. A high index of suspicion is crucial for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Surgical approaches vary depending on the tumor’s anatomical location.
