ABSTRACT

The name flare is given to the organic damage caused by the reception of atmospheric lightning. According to the World Health Organization, Mexico ranks first in the world in annual deaths caused by lightning; however, in at least 70% of cases there may be survival, although it is common for those affected to have disease that require multidisciplinary medical care for a long time, so it is considered important that the doctor has knowledge of the subject to implement the corresponding preventive and therapeutic measures.
