Educational intervention in hypertensive patients Clinic 27 ''Manuel Díaz Legrá'' Polyclinic Holguín 2021

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Arterial hypertension constitutes a health problem of great proportions, its high frequency, repercussions and sequelae, determine its increased mortality, its control is a challenge for all countries.Objectives: To implement an educational intervention program in hypertensive patients and to evaluate its effect.
Method: A quantitative study of a quasi-experimental intervention of the before-after type without a control group was carried out to implement an educational intervention program in hypertensive patients of the clinic 27 of the Polyclinic: "Manuel Díaz Legrá", Holguín Municipality, from January 2021 to May. 2021. Of the total number of hypertensive patients in the clinic: 485, after applying the inclusion criteria: patients aged 19 to 65, who voluntarily agreed to join the study and the exclusion criteria: Patients with physical and mental limitations, the Universe was made up of 159 patients, in the calculation of the sample size the formula for a finite population was used, then it was selected by simple random probabilistic sampling, it was made up of 25 patients.
Results: 76% of the patients were between 50 and 65 years old, 56% of the patients belong to the female sex (14), the family history of arterial hypertension was present in 17 patients, 64% performed treatment incorrectly. and 60% were sedentary, however, 22 patients (88%) were not obese.
Conclusions: The concordance of the measurements of the blood pressure figures before and after the intervention was good at both times. The intervention allowed a better control of the Arterial hypertension.
