Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: An Effective Multipurpose Method

ABSTRACT
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a treatment modality that generates a series of favorable changes in the human body. Several medical specialties take advantage of its benefits in order to stabilize or recover patients with ischemic based diseases, which require this therapeutic modality as a primary or adjuvant treatment. Its benefits are the result of the pressure variation and direct action of oxygen on blood, cells and tissues. It requires resources that are not always available, although the benefits it brings in terms of patient medium and long term recovery make this type of treatment economically sustainable. For the development of this review, a bibliographic search was carried out in the following databases and meta search engines: Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Cochrane Plus, Scielo and Infomed. The aim of this work is to disseminate the therapeutic benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygenation based on its scientific basis and mechanism of action.REFERENCES
