Report about a case of Unicystic plexiform ameloblastoma of the upper jaw

ABSTRACT

The patient is a white-skinned, 73 years old housewife, who came to the outpatient clinic of the Clinical Surgical Hospital at the city of Holguin, Cuba, referring that more than a month ago an exodontia was performed and the alveolus did not heal. A histopathological study of the lesion was carried out and the result was Ameloblastoma unicystic plexiform. It was decided to intervene surgically and a maxillectomy of infrastructure was performed by Weber - Ferguson approach, an obturator was placed in the surgical bed and it was closed by planes, there were no complications during the surgery, after a good recovery the patient was rehabilitated prosthetically. Early diagnosis is a fundamental factor in the treatment of this type of tumor.
