Pedagogical model for the development of professional pedagogical skills for community work

ABSTRACT
Background: training of professionals committed to social development is a mission of higher education in Cuba because society demands a professional capable of interacting effectively in their community context.Objective: to design a pedagogical model that contributes to the development of professional pedagogical skills for community work in the training of higher education professionals.
Methods: a developmental research was carried out in the Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas from 2021 to 2023. Scientific methods were used to obtain valid and reliable results; analytical-synthetic, induction-deduction, systemic-structural and modeling were used as theoretical methods; documentary analysis, scientific observation, survey of teachers and experts as empirical ones which allowed us the collection of data to guarantee the validity of the findings while the statistical analysis allowed us to determine the significance of the results.
Results: the conceived model is made up of different components in an organic integration and its application in practice takes place through the curricular strategy of community development in the Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas.
Conclusions: the pedagogical model oriented to the development of professional skills from the training of the professional was valued as applicable, pertinent, novel and very adequate by the consulted experts because it provides the necessary tools to carry out successful community work.
