International online collaborative learning: strategy for pediatric nursing skills development

ABSTRACT
Background: nursing education requires innovative educational strategies such as international online collaborative learning, which integrates theory, practice and encourages collaboration in a global environment in order to prepare future nurses to face interprofessional and cultural challenges in patient care.Objective: to systematize the opinion of Nursing students regarding the use of the online international collaborative learning methodology in the development of skills in the Pediatrics subject.
Methods: the research adopted a quantitative, descriptive and transversal approach; it was carried out during the second semester of 2023 at Las Américas University in Santiago, Chile. Theoretical methods (historical-logical, analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction), as well as empirical methods (questionnaire) were used. Mathematical methods such as descriptive statistics techniques were applied for the analysis and presentation of the results.
Results: nursing students positively valued the experience of international online collaborative learning, highlighting the ease of use of the platform, the relevance of the content and the cultural interaction. 88.4% would recommend it to others.
Conclusions: the opinion of Nursing students regarding the use of the online international collaborative learning methodology was systematized, which was positive; They recommended it to be applied in that training environment, while promoting the internationalization of institutions.
