ABSTRACT

Introduction: Odontogenic cysts are pathological cavities lined by epithelium and surrounded by fibrous connective tissue, originating from odontogenic tissue found in areas where the teeth of the maxilla and mandible are located. Case Report: We present the case of a patient diagnosed with a dentigerous cyst extending into the left maxillary sinus—an uncommon location—who underwent surgical management. Discussion: This case is of interest because this pathology is usually asymptomatic and is often discovered either due to secondary infection or as an incidental finding, typically without extension to adjacent structures. The standard treatment is surgical, although recurrence may occur after lesion removal. Conclusions: This condition should be considered when evaluating lesions associated with tooth mobility, secondary infection, or extension into adjacent areas such as the maxillary sinuses.
