Multiple Cavitated lesions caused by Staphylococcus aureus

ABSTRACT

Pulmonary cavitated lesion has a different ways of conceptualizing it. It is defined as a gas-filled space within an area of pulmonary consolidation, mass or nodule. Geppert defines it as a sub-acute infection in which the chest X ray shows a cavity within the lung parenchyma, diagnosis is a challengue because the etiology is diverse. A case was presented of 58 year old male patient residing in Cerro municipality, taxi driver with a History of type II diabetes mellitus Bronchial Asthma and arterial hypertension, a smoker and alcohol abuse, who came to the clinic due to fever 38 °C, burning sensation when he passed urine, leakage of obvious weight and difficulty walking, he was treated before admission with combined antibiotical treatment the fever evolved into chronic. A clinical microbiological and imaging diagnosis of multiple cavitated lesions due to staphylococcus aureus herniated disc due to L5- S1 protrusion.
