ABSTRACT
Introduction: Very complex health issues affect our countries today and it is everyone's responsibility to solve them. Objective: Search —from fraternal and collaborative dialogue— innovative solutions for old and new problems that concern us and affect us all. Results: Innovative solutions are analyzed to solve current health challenges. At the epicenter of the work to achieve universal health, the implementation of policies and programs that guarantee the right to a healthy life stands out, as part of the Health 2030 agenda, in a context characterized by COVID-19. The evolution of the National Health System, its main strengths, strategies, programs and indicators are described, all of which allowed the design of a successful model to confront the pandemic, with an integrated management of Science, Epidemiology and Assistance. Conclusions: The way forward requires an exponential deployment of Primary Care, in vital issues such as the promotion of new forms of health promotion and disease prevention, which include the entire life cycle; reduce risk factors; improve health surveillance; expand vaccination schedules; train professionals who are increasingly prepared and committed to life, and promote digitization and science. The National Health System outlines its present and future development based on the principles demanded by science and modern medicine.
