ABSTRACT

Introduction: simulators, virtual and augmented reality, telesurgery, and artificial intelligence have revolutionized the teaching of medical practice, a change enhanced by robotic surgery. The demand for this type of surgical procedure requires the development of robotic surgery training programs in hospitals with the infrastructure to house this type of technology. One of these hospitals is the Angeles Lindavista Hospital. In this study, we describe our experience in implementing a robotic surgery program in the Gynecology Area, focusing on comparing the number of procedures performed with those of other hospitals. Material and methods: retrospective study of 30 patients who underwent a gynecological procedure using the da Vinci Xi platform between January 2024 and March 2025 at Angeles Lindavista Hospital. Information was obtained from electronic records, reviewing demographic data, and diagnosis. Results: we described the experience with the implementation of a robotic surgery program in the Gynecology Department of Angeles Lindavista Hospital and compared the number of procedures performed annually at this hospital with other centers, which show similar values. Conclusions: the number of robot-assisted procedures at our hospital is near other institutions, suggesting that our robotic surgery program is viable and may be functional for other centers seeking to implement this technology.
