Molluscum contagiosum

ABSTRACT

Molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV) commonly causes skin infections, primarily affecting children. While generally benign and selflimiting, its course can depend on the host’s immune response. MCV leads to single or multiple papular skin lesions that may cause discomfort. Various treatment options exist, including both chemical and mechanical therapies, with the choice of treatment individualized for each patient.
