ABSTRACT

For some years now, kidney transplantation has been the treatment of choice in children with Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease. For its good evolution, an adequate surgical technique, adequate anesthetic management and its subsequent postoperative follow-up by a multidisciplinary team made up of nephrologists, surgeons, intensivists and radiologists, among other specialties, are required. The good nutritional and metabolic status of the child at the time of transplantation, together with the use of new immunosuppressive drugs, has a positive influence on the evolution and survival of the patient and the graft. It success will depend on teamwork and coordination.
