ABSTRACT
Adenosquamous carcinoma of the colon is a rare malignancy composed of both glandular and squamous malignant components, with
more aggressive clinical behavior and poorer prognosis compared to conventional adenocarcinoma. We report the case of a 76-yearold
female presenting with abdominal pain and hematochezia, in whom an infiltrative cecal mass was identified. She underwent extended
right hemicolectomy, and histopathological analysis confirmed a moderately to poorly differentiated adenosquamous carcinoma.
This advanced presentation illustrates the aggressive nature of the disease. Given its rarity, there are no standardized treatment
protocols, although surgical resection with negative margins remains the cornerstone of therapy. This case contributes to the clinical
and morphological understanding of colonic adenosquamous carcinoma and underscores the need for more evidence to guide its
diagnosis and management.
