ABSTRACT
Ross River virus (RRV) infection is one of the most common arboviral diseases in Australia and some islands of Oceania, transmitted by mosquitoes. Reservoirs include kangaroos –the primary reservoir hosts–, possums, horses, sheep, rabbits, flying foxes, and some birds. RRV infection, also known as epidemic polyarthritis, is a debilitating and often persistent condition characterized by arthritis, fever, rash, muscle and joint pain, and fatigue. No treatment has been shown to shorten the duration or alter the course of RRV.REFERENCES
