ABSTRACT

Introduction: transgender and gender-diverse individuals face significant challenges, including discrimination and a lack of medical knowledge. Objective: to conduct a literature review of medical considerations for transgender patients. Material and methods: searches included PubMed, Ovid, Cochrane, ClinicalKey, and Google Scholar. Results: it is important to understand the peri-anesthetic implications of trans patients. Conclusion: transgender patients may undergo gender-affirming surgeries or any other type of surgical procedure, so it is essential to be informed on this topic.
