ABSTRACT

The prospective, observational study evaluated the relationship between preanesthetic assessment time (PAV) and preoperative anxiety (APOP) in 101 patients undergoing knee arthroscopy. The APAIS scale was used, identifying APOP in 56.4% of cases (score ›3). The results showed that performing VPA more than 2 hours in advance significantly decreased APOP. Decreasing APOP improves recovery, reduces post-surgical complications and optimizes hospital resources.
