ABSTRACT
Introduction: the Achilles tendon is the strongest tendon in the body; however, it is prone to a lot of tears, this due to the significant loading forces to which it is subjected, especially when performing physical activity. Achilles tendon ruptures that are not treated or diagnosed until four weeks after the injury are called chronic ruptures and require surgical treatment. Clinical case: in this article we present a chronic calcaneal tendon injury treated by repair, augmentation with the plantaris muscle and turndown flap of the gastrocnemius. Conclusion: there are several treatment alternatives for a chronic Achilles tendon rupture on this occasion the option with better functional results was chosen.REFERENCES
