ABSTRACT
Placenta accreta spectrum disorders are defined by abnormal
trophoblastic invasion into the myometrium, with a rising
incidence due to the increase in cesarean deliveries. In
symptomatic patients with focal accreta and/or persistent
placental tissue, hysteroscopic resection has been proposed
as a conservative alternative to hysterectomy. First described
by Goldberg in 1997 and later reported by Quan in 2002
for retained placental tissue, hysteroscopy allows targeted
resection under direct visualization, confirming the absence
of a cleavage plane and reducing risks associated with
“blind” procedures. This minimally invasive approach offers
an innovative fertility-preserving option in selected clinical
scenarios.
