ABSTRACT
We describe one of the rare causes of hyperparathyroidism in a 29-year-old male patient with chronic kidney disease since he was 8-years-old with no primary cause. He had received two transplants, resulting in dysfunction of both grafts, and was subsequently treated with hemodialysis. During follow-up, he responded poorly to conventional measures to lower serum calcium, so he consulted an endocrinologist, who ordered parathyroid scintigraphy and Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography/Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT), revealing two parathyroid adenomas and multiple brown tumors.REFERENCES
