ABSTRACT
Several studies have reported covid-19-related sequelae affecting sexual and reproductive health in
both men and women. In the male population, the most notable consequences include persistent
hypogonadism, erectile dysfunction, and alterations in semen parameters, such as reduced ejaculate
volume, sperm concentration and motility, as well as increased sperm dna fragmentation, which
may negatively affect fertility and quality of life. In women, menstrual irregularities, sexual dysfunction,
decreased libido, and transient alterations in ovarian and endometrial function have been
described, particularly among those who experienced moderate to severe disease. From a clinical
perspective, these sequelae may persist for months or even years after the acute phase of covid-19.
However, these infection-related alterations remain poorly recognized and insufficiently understood.
