ABSTRACT

Eosinophilic pustular folliculitis (EPF) is an inflammatory dermatosis of unknown etiology. Eosinophilic pustular folliculitis of infancy (EPFI) is a rare variant, accounting for less than 10% of all cases. It is characterized by recurrent episodes of pruritic papules and sterile pustules, typically involving the scalp. The clinical course is benign, with spontaneous resolution by age 3 in approximately 80% of patients. EPFI has been associated with atopic dermatitis, asthma, and allergic rhinitis, likely due to shared immunological features such as eosinophilia and elevated IgE levels. We report the case of a pediatric patient diagnosed with EPFI associated with atopic dermatitis. To our knowledge, this represents the first case described in Mexico.
