ABSTRACT

The following case report describes a patient with abdominal pain in upper right quadrant, fever and jaundice, the abdominal contrast tomography scan showed a single liver abscess of 7 x 8 cm, localized in the right lobe of the liver. Amebiasis is the third leading cause of death from parasitic disease worldwide. The areas of highest incidence include most developing countries, particularly Mexico. It should diagnosticated and treated with metronidazol in non-complicated cases and prevenible with hygiene measures.
