ABSTRACT
Introduction: Cranioencephalic trauma is a pathology with great personal, social and economic repercussions due to the morbidity and mortality caused by associated brain damage. Objective: To describe the evolution of a patient with head trauma after physical neurorehabilitation treatment.
Case report: We report the case of a 30-year-old male patient, who treated at the Adult Static Brain Injury Clinic of the International Center for Neurological Restoration from November 2019 to February 2020. The treatment included 10 weekly sessions of 4 hours a day of physical therapy for 56 days.
Conclusions: Physical neurorehabilitation is effective in the patient, since improvements in mobility and active joint amplitude in lower limbs were evidenced, mainly the left lower limb. Muscle mass is increased from the proximal to the distal level in the thighs and legs. In addition, standing balance and walking with a walker are improved.
