ABSTRACT

Synovial chondromatosis (SC) is rare in the shoulder, particularly in the acromioclavicular joint. We report the case of a 30-year-old man with chronic pain in the left shoulder. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using T1-, T2-weighted, and proton density sequences revealed multiple intra-articular cartilaginous loose bodies, both calcified and non-calcified, along with synovial thickening. Detailed imaging analysis allowed correlation with previously described radiologic patterns. This approach facilitated an accurate diagnosis and optimized surgical planning, in alignment with prior reports. MRI plays a critical role in the comprehensive evaluation of shoulder SC.
