Gastric diverticulum mimicking adrenal mass: case report and comparative imaging review

ABSTRACT
Gastric diverticulum is a rare anomaly of the gastrointestinal
tract, usually asymptomatic and incidentally detected. We report
the case of a 48-year-old female with epigastric pain and a saclike
lesion in the gastric fundus, initially suggestive of an adrenal
mass. Computed tomography revealed a lesion containing
air and fluid, and magnetic resonance imaging confirmed
its communication with the gastric lumen, without signs of
malignancy. Conservative management was successful. This
case highlights the value of multimodal imaging evaluation
for accurate diagnosis and to avoid unnecessary procedures.
