ABSTRACT
Introduction: The osteoporosis in a health problem.
Objective: To value the social and medical factors of the osteoporosis and osteopenia.
Material and methods: I am made prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive, observational study. L apply to 350 feminine patients a questionnaire: Social variables (age, sex, schooling) epidemiology (race, place of origin, place of residence, previous occupation, present occupation) clinic (weight, carves, stature, heredofamilials, metabolic antecedents, physical activity, mistrials feeding menarche, cycles, number of children, menopause, hormonal therapy, gynecological surgery, surgeries, toxicomanias, traumatisms.
Statistic: Percentage, average and chi square.
Results: 350 patients, average of age 61 years, 165 osteoporosis, 185 osteopenia, primary scholastic. Degree 47%, origin DF 47%, previous occupation home 45%, present occupation 78% home, carves 150 m, lost of the stature 51%, relatives with osteoporosis 19%, sedentary 59%, menopause 56%, (40 - 50 years). P = 0.057 menstruals age, 0.001 peso 0.05 decrease of the weight, 0.04 cycles.
Conclusion: It exists a population with osteoporosis in a 20%, the age related to the weight, carves, lost of weight and gynecological antecedents.
