ABSTRACT

Baclofen is an antispasmodic drug with GABA-B agonist actions that is often used in the treatment of spasticity and spinal cord lesions. The side effects secondary to over dose depends of the ingested dose and include drowsiness, muscular weakness and coma.
We present a 28 years old man that arrived in coma with extreme muscular weakness after ingesting 600 mg of baclofen “eight times the standard dose”. He received vital support measures during the calculated half live of the ingested dose. He did not receive dialytic support. He also responded briefly and transiently to a single dose of flumazenyl After five days he was full recovery.
