ABSTRACT

Myocarditis is a disorder defined as an inflammatory process that involves the myocardium almost following an infection, systemic diseases or hypersensitivity reactions. Due to it’s wide clinical spectrum sometimes the diagnosis could not be identified. The early identification is very important to avoid dilated cardiomyopathy. The treatment varies from bed rest to cardiac trasplantation and the prognosis depends on left ventricular dysfunction and heart failure.
