ABSTRACT

The Metabolic Syndrome or Insulin Resistance Syndrome is nowadays and accepted and recognized clinical entity with a well defined clinical picture, its presence may be found in themost diverse clinical settings associated to hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and obesity, it may also be found in young adults with coronary heart disease, where it may be the first important sign for a physician to suspect it and evaluate its influence over a highly accelerated atyherogenic process; we present a case who shows this characteristics and discuss the metabolic evaluation done to this patient.
