Results of arthroscopic fixation of the labrum in recurrent dislocation of the shoulder

ABSTRACT

The present series involve 15 cases of recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder who were treated by arthroscopic reconstruction. All 15 cases had glenoid labrum detachment which was repaired by two 2.7 mm screws. Relapsing dislocation was resolved in all but one patient (93%) who had seizures who requiered an open Magnuson-Stack reconstruction of the anterior joint capsule. It is concluded that after a proper training, arthroscopy must be advised as the first step for diagnosis and treatment of anterior labrum injury of the shoulder.
