ABSTRACT

Torn meniscus represents one of the most common traumatic disorders of the knee. We present the results of 25 patients (25 knees with 26 torn meniscus) who underwent meniscal repair and were followed up during a two-year period. All patients were treated by the same surgeon with the “inside-out” technique using a double lumen cannula and non-absorbable monofilament suture by arthroscopy.
The average follow-up was 46 months, the results indicate that all 25 patients remain asymptomatic, 84% of them have normal physical activity, and 16% have diminished it although they are asymptomatic and don’t relate this to the surgical procedure.
