ABSTRACT

In spite of the technological advances for the diagnosis early and therefore of a better prognosis and treatment, the bone infections of the spine continue being an important challenge for the orthopedist. We find that the incidence of the de Pott’s disease in our hospital for 1988 is of six cases (0.06%) and four cases for another type of vertebral bone infection (0.04%). It is analyzed the physiopathology and the advances in diagnosis and treatment.
