Epilepsy surgery, antiepileptic drugs –AED–, AED reduction and discontinuation.

ABSTRACT

In nonsurgical epilepsy, antiepileptic drugs (AED) are reduced in an attempt to discontinue the drugs completely in seizure-free patients. However, in post-surgical epilepsy patients there is a not an information guides about whether and when AED can be discontinued, in whom and how to reached. Here we revised some evidence about this issue.
