ABSTRACT

In the last century a significant progress has been made to classify, diagnose and understand the pathogenesis of interstitial pneumopathies. Technological advancement, in particular physiologic tests, imagery studies, bronchoalveolar lavage, surgical biopsy and histopathology evaluation have improved our knowledge about these conditions. This paper highlights some of these advancements that have changed the clinical practice of interstitial pneumopathies associated with rheumatic diseases.
