ABSTRACT

We report a 25 years old female that presented with lumbar pain, no palpable mass, fever and purulent vaginal discharge. Imaging abdominal ultrasound showed low mobility, peri-renal exudative inflammation and alterations in renal cortex, computed axial tomography scan showed enlarged liver and spleen and peri-renal cystic lesion with inferior right quadrant extension. The patient was operated on excision the tumor. Pathological examination of the surgical piece disclosed a retroperitoneal fibromatosis or desmoid tumor. This report details a case of a retroperitoneal desmoids tumor and a brief literature review.
