ABSTRACT

We report a 13th day baby, weighting 3.3 kilograms, with the diagnosis of hypoplastic left heart syndrome, classified as a high risk, because he presented with a cardiogenic shock. The baby was taken for a palliative type I hybrid procedure, with bilateral pulmonary artery banding and a stent in the ductus arteriosus, as a new alternative, with a high efficiency and a low morbidity and mortality in this kind of patients.
