ABSTRACT

The authors analyzed the UNAM’s School of Medicine scientific productivity. We observed an increase in the number of scientists registered at the National Council’s of Science and Technology Researcher’s System from 1999 to 2002. Moreover, we noted a similar trend in international publications. The journals chosen by faculty researchers to publish their results had an average impact factor of 2.37 during 1999-2002, which is similar (2.49) to the national average reported by National Council’s of Science and Technology Researcher’s System for the 1998-2002 period.
