ABSTRACT

In this paper lethal and underlethal effects of five lactones on the cattle tick (Boophilus annulatus Say) and its oviposition features was evaluated. These lactones were obtained from a Streptomyces sp** culture broth. Lactone 3 caused a 30% percent death rate and a bigger decrease in hatching than a commercial drug with ivermectine. It is concluded that the lactone is effective due to its insecticidal potential use.
