Gastroesophageal reflux, congenital diseases, gastroesophageal fisiopathology.

ABSTRACT

The fisiopathological features of gastroesophageal reflux (GR) in childrens are reviewed. Due to the fact of GR is a congenital defect could be considered the same problem in children and adults; the prevalence is the same in both.
Procedures for diagnosis and treatment, and results obtained, are mentioned; 5% of the cases have severe complications. By this reason it is proposed that the children should have a document, like the vaccine control card, in order to have information of clinical manifestations of GR since early life.
