ABSTRACT
The association of acute appendicitis and inguinoscrotal hernia in newborn are strange, when it is presented it is frequent in premature newborn; the acute appendicitis in some cases associates with other intestinal pathologies. The case of a newborn term that began with manifestations to the 7 days of age is presented, with anorexy and irritability. The following day is presented an abdominal distend, hipertermia and increase of volume in region inguinoscrotal. lt was surgically, for incarcerated inguinoscrotal hernia being inside the sack hernial acute appendicitis abscess. The evolution was satisfactory and without complications. In these cases the diagnosis and opportune treatment, since existing perforation of the appendix, the mortality is high.
