Key words:

Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), dimer D.

ABSTRACT

Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) is an acquired disturbance and it was presented frequently in multiple pathologic process in pediatric age.
The purpose was to show the dimer D’s test sensitivity, specifity and predictive value to record DIC’s diagnosis.
We studied 60 patients. The dimer D’s test’s had mean of 3.3 mg ± 0.60, sensitivity of 89.18%, specificity 84%, predictive value from a positive test 89.18%, predictive value from a negative test 84%, efficiency 87%. The factor V had a mean 56.7% ± 8.15, with sensitivity 88.8%, specificity 87.5%, predictive value from a positive test 91.4%, predictive value from a negative test 84%, efficiency 88.3%.
Conclusions: The dimer D’s test is useful, add patient’s clinic features because of the swiftness it can be performed.
