ABSTRACT

Objective: The study was done in order to analyze the experience obtained by the use of percutaneous renal biopsy (R.B).
Material and methods. The records of 43 children submitted for RB were analyzed in regard to complications and histopathological findings.
Results: The mean age of the children was 9.0 years; in 92% of those the left kidney was biopsed. The needle «true-cut» was used in 23 patients. In 72.2% the localization of the kidney was done by lineal tomography and only in one case there was severe complications.
Conclusions. As another reports, the RB seems to be a save procedure when it is done by experts. There was not differences in relation to the use of one or another needle.
