ABSTRACT

Purpose: To determine the effect of lasik surgery in high order aberrations on patients who underwent central ablations versus multizone.
Method: We included 80 myopic eyes from –4.00 to –10.00D and astigmatism less than –3.00D. Separate in two groups: a. with central ablation and b. multizone ablation. Aberrometry was taken presurgery and postsurgery, at 1 and 3 months.
Results: The mean match founded was 94±3.67. Between the two ablation groups there was statistically significance in the spheric aberration and coma.
Conclusion: Multizone differs from conventional zone ablation in the amount of spherical aberration induced.
