Facial asymmetry, strabismus.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Plagiocephaly may be considered an asymmetry of the bone of the face and skull resulting from an early closure of sutures.
Method: In 11cases we analyzed external oropalpebral lines, palpebral fissures, hypertropia in primary position and four quadrants, duction and stereo-test.
Results: Two patients present a severe facial asymmetry, 7 moderate and 2 mild, 1 patient presented congenital IV nerve paralysis with hypertropia in four positions. Average stereo test was 400-800 seconds of arc. One patient was found with myasthenia gravis.
Conclusion: We need to check more patients to have conclusions. We suggest that patients with facial asymmetry must be evaluated to explore associated alteration.
