ABSTRACT

During pregnancy, the human body presents many changes in order to tolerate this state for several months. Within these changes we can find the ones referring to respiratory, cardiovascular and endocrinology systems, among others. Unfortunately, not few women present different diseases during pregnancy. One of these diseases is acute appendicitis which requires surgical treatment. This study presents a review of the anesthetic management of these patients, with all the physiological and anatomic changes they present, and we describe the experience of these cases over the last years in the ABC Medical Center.
